My ideal job is school librarian, but I’m nervous that those jobs are scarce and I’m limiting my career potential...
amandahoffmeister
02:43:21
I do.

02:43:43
I might have missed this, but how many hours a week do most students need to complete coursework? I’m a mom and full time teacher with three young kids and just wondering if I can make it work.
Katy
02:44:51
I am currently a Library Media Technician at a middle school but do not have my teaching credential, am i eligible for the program and how would it benefit me. I also wonder if the feild work can be done during my normal business hours at my district?
amandahoffmeister
02:45:19
Thanks!
Bernice
02:45:38
Would you be able to complete the fieldwork at one school if it is an elementary/middle school?
Debbie Faires
02:45:59
There is a general formula for average workload. Plan on spending about 9 hours per week for a 3 unit course in a regular 16 week semester.

02:46:42
How does field work happen if you are already teaching full time?
amandahoffmeister
02:46:46
Are summer courses available for regular session or only for special session?

02:49:08
I have been working in higher ed for a few years and I have not cleared my credential.
amandahoffmeister
02:49:19
Debra, I’m not sure if we’re in the same situation, but I renewed mine online easily and I haven’t been in the classroom for ten years. It was just paperwork and a small fee.

02:50:44
Oh thank you! I still need one year of BTSA to clear my multiple subjects credential so I would need to go back to the classroom to clear my expired preliminary credential.

02:50:58
I only taught 3 years before I went into higher ed

amandahoffmeister
02:52:59

How can the fieldwork hours be spread out over the course of the program? Like are there a certain number of hours you need to complete each semester?
gwalton
02:56:09
Ok, thanks!
amandahoffmeister
02:56:28
Can you talk a little about the e-Portfolio? How much work is it?
Bernice
02:56:47
So if you are a classroom teacher, some fieldwork can be done at your home school?
